It was 1999 and a bunch of us baby-boomers were discussing anti-aging, diet and nutrition.  It was then that someone said, "Have you ever read the list of ingredients on a jar of skin cream? You'd need a degree in chemistry to understand it!"

What we then came to learn is that more than 600 well-known, brand name, personal care items contained the same ingredients that are also used for manufacturing embalming fluid, anti-freeze, brake fluid, plastics, paint and adhesives.  Actually, the more you learn about how these products are made, the more disgusting it gets!

Well, one thing led to another and we decided to get creative.  It took more than 12 months,  perhaps 18 months and we developed a very pure skin care product loaded with vitamins and other skin nourishing nutrients.  Actually, the product we developed was just outstanding, and we all knew it because we were all using it.

Our original intent was to just make our cream for ourselves.  But some secrets are hard to keep and the local demand began to surge.  In fact, doctors were recommending our products to their patients who were chemically sensitive or allergy prone.  Our products were in demand.

So what's a person to do? Our business continued to grow. So...we decided to develop additional products...exceptional products. And we decided to call ourselves Butterfly Products. We are a family owned and operated small business located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina.
